Our Year in 2008

Hello there! We have been doing very great and have had a wonderful year and it has surely been busy that is for sure. We both volunteered at the hospital for those parents that had kids in the N.I.C.U. and helped answer questions and told them what we had went through. We have served as teachers in the Primary. We have been married for 3 and a half years and loving every minute of married life. Most of all spending time together with our daughter Lexey and with family and friends as well.
Brian 32 still working at BMC West in Idaho Falls and he is in retail sales. He has also been busy ushering for April and October Conferences and also other events throughout the year along with his dad. He two year church service mission is over. Brian really did love ushering down at the Conference Center and at Temple Square. He also has made many friends that he will continue to keep in contact with. He has gained a relationship with those that he ushered with. Brian is a proud Dad. He spends all his spare time playing with his daughter Lexey. He loves making her giggle.
Kim 29 still at S.O.A.R. and is a Target Service Coordinator and is busy a lot of time. Either on the phone or setting up appointments with her clients that she has to see every month. Kim has starting scrap-booking again and it has been fun for her to get back into it. Kim has been trying to regain her health since having Lexey. Having a baby really changes your body and adjusting is a growing process. Kim loves being a new mom. Kim love just rocking and cuddling Lexey to sleep. Kim's favorite time with Lexey is when she has sleep through the night and Lexey wakes up so happy and rested.
Lexey Christine born May 14, 2008 weighed 1 pound 10 ounce and was only 12 inches long. She was on a roller coaster and she surely is very Strong and had a lot of help along the way. She was in the hospital for 2 months as a couple of days. Left the hospital and she was 4 pounds 4 ounces. The Pediatrician says that Lexey is not quite on the charts yet. The Occupational Therapist says that Lexey is really came a long way. He has us do exercises with her every time we change her diaper. Now 7 months later she is 13 pounds and 6 ounces and is about 22 or 23 inches long. She sure is so happy and funny in the mornings as she gets a lot of sleep. Lexey's blog is watchlexeygrow@blogspot.com
We have really enjoyed the times that we have been able to get together and visit at Reunions and other get together's. We are looking forward to seeing you all next year and visiting with you all then. Well you all take care and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Love Always, Brian, Kimberly, and Lexey

Proud Parents of Lexey

We just want to say that we love being new parents! This precious girl is worth every tear and heartache over the last few months that we have gone through. She is so sweet and we still tear up every time she stare into her eyes and we see that pure love she shines within. She sure make our family complete and we count our blessings (which are overflowing) everyday.
When she was born she weighed 1 lb 10 oz or 745 grams. Someone told me that is like, have 745 paperclips. She had to be revived back to life when she was first in this world. Than for the first week of her life the doctor told us she was very sick and he was not sure if she was going to make it.
Lexey had to have many blood transfusions while she was in the hospital and that alarmed us at first, but she looked and felt so much better after to receiving the new blood. We were able to bring Lexey home after 2 months and 3 days. She weighed 4 lbs 4oz the day she came home.
Bringing Lexey home was a challenge for us we had to adjust not only to a new baby, but she was a very preemie baby. She came home with oxygen and that was an adjustment for us. We had this machine that beeped all of the time. It drove us crazy at first. Than we figured out that when she is moving it is not accurate and we didn’t need to adjust her oxygen every time.
We had to learn how to be extra gentle with her and also to tell other in a nice way that we didn’t want to have visitor, due to protecting her from sickness.
Brian is soooo darn cute with her--he just turns to butter around her! Brian is the proudest papa I have ever seen. She sure rules our home right now and we are grateful we have her home! We look at her and are in awe that she is soooo strong to be where she is now after what she has been through! We have gone from 1 lb 10 to over 9lbs in less than 5 months! It has been really neat to be able to see a baby grow so small to what she is now. Not very many people are able to go through this and we cherish every moment.

up date

This last week we entered a pic in the fair of our hands and rings. Sad, but true no ribbon was earned it was fun to enter it though. Brian went four wheeling with some of his family and our truck broke down. I am not looking forward to paying that bill for sure. I took my dad to dinner for his birthday at TGIF it was yummy. I took my brother Kevin's kids. My mom came as well. We love everyone to comment on our blog. So we know people are looking at it. I will ask a question to all. Where is a good place to have professional pic of Lexey taken? She needs some good ones done of her. also how do you do a slide show on her I tried and it didn't work?

update for the week

Brian and I have got our scooter running and it is very fun to ride and saves tons of gas so far. We went to Brian's family reunion this week and we had a raffle and won a catch phase game, a pot roast box, and a sign for the wall. Brian got into a big water fight and he had a blast. We had Kim's sister Sheri her for the weekend and she was a big help watching Lexey while we went to the reunion, Church, and on monday when we worked she is great. Kim's family came over on sunday for Dinner. We ate chicken, scalop Potatoes, corn, and a desert. We play some games it was very fun. Lexey went to the doctor and she now weights 5lbs 11oz. She is going to start working on getting off oxygen. We are enjoying being parent and love learning more and more about Lexey.
