We just want to say that we love being new parents! This precious girl is worth every tear and heartache over the last few months that we have gone through. She is so sweet and we still tear up every time she stare into her eyes and we see that pure love she shines within. She sure make our family complete and we count our blessings (which are overflowing) everyday.
When she was born she weighed 1 lb 10 oz or 745 grams. Someone told me that is like, have 745 paperclips. She had to be revived back to life when she was first in this world. Than for the first week of her life the doctor told us she was very sick and he was not sure if she was going to make it.
Lexey had to have many blood transfusions while she was in the hospital and that alarmed us at first, but she looked and felt so much better after to receiving the new blood. We were able to bring Lexey home after 2 months and 3 days. She weighed 4 lbs 4oz the day she came home.
Bringing Lexey home was a challenge for us we had to adjust not only to a new baby, but she was a very preemie baby. She came home with oxygen and that was an adjustment for us. We had this machine that beeped all of the time. It drove us crazy at first. Than we figured out that when she is moving it is not accurate and we didn’t need to adjust her oxygen every time.
We had to learn how to be extra gentle with her and also to tell other in a nice way that we didn’t want to have visitor, due to protecting her from sickness.
Brian is soooo darn cute with her--he just turns to butter around her! Brian is the proudest papa I have ever seen. She sure rules our home right now and we are grateful we have her home! We look at her and are in awe that she is soooo strong to be where she is now after what she has been through! We have gone from 1 lb 10 to over 9lbs in less than 5 months! It has been really neat to be able to see a baby grow so small to what she is now. Not very many people are able to go through this and we cherish every moment.
Dad.
